UPDATE:

Jonathan Daniel, the manager of Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, has said the reports are false.

“That’s an amazing story, and the first I’ve heard of any of this…They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check.”

Earlier Story doubting it was true:

Twitter is alight with rumours that Robert Pattinson is to play Kurt Cobain in an upcoming movie; and so were we….but it looks like the rumours aren’t true.

The Sun’s infamous “sources” said Courtney Love is being consulted heavily about the project and:

She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music. Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt

However, reports by Gossip Cop (OK not the best name for a source to trust…but still) indicate that their sources say their is no accuracy to the reports.

Given that Courtney Love is reported to have vetoed Zac Efron from the role in recent history, it does not seem to ring true that she would go so overboard about Robert Pattinson.  Though it’s not defecating on Kurt’s memory quite so much, it’s doubtful he could convince her he’s not of the teeny bopper heartthrob  variety.

Lastly we should probably remember that it was reported in 2007 that Ewan McGregor was in talks for a role playing Kurt Cobain – nothing happened.

The only info we do know is biopic will be called All Apologies and will be directred by David Fincher (of Fight Club, Se7en, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button fame).

If you’re worried though you can tweet #nopattinson4cobain….just to be on the safe side.
