Everyone’s favourite grunge artists, Pearl Jam, are to release their new album, Backspacer, on September 21 via Universal/Island Records. It’ll be their ninth studio album, and their first with this particular label.

Producer Brendan O’Brien is back on board for the sixth time, and to celebrate they’re treating us all to three gigs during August.

The two original shows at Manchester’s MEN Arena (August 17) and London’s O2 Arena (August 18) sold out in 17 minutes, so they’ll also be appearing at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on August 11.

Tickets for the new date go on sale on July 23, with a special HMV pre-sale starting on July 21.
