Newcastle’s Discovery Museum is set to host a brilliant afternoon of music from some of the North East’s newest musical talents. The museum’s Great Hall will be the setting for North East Beat Unsigned, which will be hosted by Generator – the country’s leading popular music development agency – in association with Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums.

The company invited acts from across the region to apply to play the free event, which will be headlined by Brilliant Mind and Let’s Buy Happiness. Five “emerging” bands will also play, and these are Black Cab Casino, The Anglo Form, Vacation Pioneers, Pink Lane and Illustrators.

Three judges will cast their eyes and ears over the emerging bands; Tom Robinson (BBC 6Music), Peter Brewis (one half of the brilliant Field Music) and Claire Dupree (editor of local music magazine NARC.).

North East Beat Unsigned will be held on Saturday November 14 at the Discovery Museum, Blandford Square, Newcastle, and will run from 12pm until 5pm. Entry is free, and the event is open to all ages.
