Ticket touting is always an issue, and unless we go to non transferable picture ID models we’re not going to stamp it out. The Arctic Monkeys fan base have been proving that they haven’t gone off the boil as the midweek charts show they’ve been buying Suck It and See in their droves. What is likely to be a an extra bonus to many of them is that this move will also see Lady Gaga knocked off the top spot (based on anecdotal evidence we see little overlap between the two groups of fans).

Surprisingly though Gaga hasn’t just been bumped into second place, instead seeing a virtual sales collapse by her standards by slipping down to fourth place. This makes it a virtual certainty that Alex Turner’s band will be number one come the end of the week.

While Gaga can be excused for this as she sold so much in her first week, Coldplay’s new single, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, is languishing in fourth position in the singles charts. Instead Example is at number one and Pitbull at number two. Expect some rolling of the eyes from Coldplay fans.

We’ve fancied Katy Perry through thick and thin. Despite photos of her with no makeup in bed, despite videos of her looking like the alien Borg Queen she’s still been hot to us. Now though she’s gone even further and dressed as a major dork to the point we’re even questioning whether we would. The answer is that we still would, but we did question it.

While Rihanna is tying herself up and Gaga has been appearing in see through dresses, Katy has been busy at work coming up with a genius plan – namely to desexualise herself.

Now it’s obviously a bit of a ploy just to get Facebook likes, but we don’t mind that too much – she’s in a pretty fierce battle of the divas so she’s got to self promote. And this knack for online promotion has come with some brilliant side effects as it has been announced that Rebecca Black will be appearing in the video. If you didn’t spot her in the teaser promo above pause at 16 seconds and you’ll see her on the sofa in the background, smiling through the post traumatic stress syndrome that she must be suffering.

The alter ego that stars in the video is called Kathy Beth Terry and is supposedly a 13 year old, and if you were cynical might even appear to be a bit like Rebecca Black.

The parody is all in the veign of Greece where people in their mid twenties could play school kids without anyone raising an eyebrow. If you want to get to know the character a bit more here’s her talking to Facebook:

We hope this turns out to be funny. We like the idea of it, but Katy isn’t known for subtlety (we refer you to I Kissed a Girl) and if it’s too obvoius a caricature it couldf all flat.

Then again we can always laugh at her if not with her.

You may remember we reported a little while back that Justin Bieber got egged on stage by an unknown assailant. Well, the Australian police have been right onto this one and have managed to apprehend the little blighter (the person throwing eggs…not Justin). It turns out it was just a 17 year old boy!

What surprised us was how Justin Bieber seemed to dodge these with ease, and even turn it into a jaunty little dance. As if this wasn’t embarrassing enough for the kid responsible, he has now been hauled to court and has pleaded guilty (the Australians have never been known for their clement legal system) in front of the nation.

The assailant is not just up charges of throwing the eggs though, he also broke into the Sydney Acer Arena which means he could be in quite a lot of trouble.

Maybe he should be given a break though. If we were 17 year old boys, we’d be pretty pissed at J-Bieb too.

Jennifer Lopez might be riding high at the moment on the back of American Idol, but there’s a fly in the ointment in the form of an old sex tape. Her ex, Ojani Noa, is apparently close to closing a deal for the tape which features her naked for 15 minutes, but doesn’t actually show her getting down to it.

So why hasn’t he done this before I hear you J-Lo fans and porn addicts cry? Well the answer is there had been an injunction in place stopping him releasing the tapes. However, he’s finally figured out there is a loophole – he sold it to his new girlfriend for a small price and a judge has backed her case to sell it. Apparently J-Lo would be harming the girlfriend’s livelihood by not allowing her to sell it. This sounds like a bullshit legal argument, but it’s worked!

Noa’s manager, Ed Meyer said:

“I’ve gotten emails from Pornhub, YouPorn, Pulse Distribution, Red Light District and Kevin Blatt, who brokered Paris Hilton’s sex tape.

If an offer looks good, we’ll definitely take it.”

Pornhub too have said they’ve already put aside a place in their celeb section.

On the back of this we’d advise Jennifer Garner to have a rumage through Ben Affleck’s closets to see if there are an VHS tapes labelled “J-Lo”.

Cheryl Cole is set to return to her position as judge on the US X Factor again after it has been reported that Fox executives have had a bit of a change of heart. This is bound to just fuel the rumour that this was all a PR stunt, and to be honest, so crazy is this turn of events that we’re not sure it wasn’t.

So what are the reasons being given for this turn of events? Well there’s a couple of theories floating about – one favourable to Cheryl, the other not so favourable. So let’s start with the nice one.

According to the News Of The World, despite the bust up between Miss Cole and Simon, he has still been working his socks off in the background to get her back on the show. Apparently he has been sitting them down to watch tapes of the early auditions which prove just how vital Cheryl is to the show. Here’s what their source had to say:

‘[K]ey executives at Fox all realised they had made a big mistake. They have been watching the tapes of her at the American auditions and realising that she could be a huge star over there.’

While we’d love it to be true that our American cousins just can’t have their own X Factor without Cheryl Cole returning, we have to say there’s something a bit fishy about this explantaion? Surely the Fox execs would have been watching the auditions themselves and realised this? Surely they would have watched back the tapes of her at the auditions before taking the big step of sacking her? So there could be another explanation.

TMZ, who originally broke the story of the sacking have a slightly different version of events. According to them, when Fox fired Cole for being a Geordie it was still liable to pay her $1.25 million dollars. This is a big chunk of change to throw away and in the end the execs realised they just couldn’t justify it. Again though, wouldn’t this have been clear to them before they took the huge public decision to fire her?

We know on thing though. We’re confused as hell and a monumental mind fuck has gone on here.

Poor Kimberly Walsh! We all thought she’d landed the position of presenter on the Xtra Factor for 2011. Her mini drama though reflects Cheryl’s as Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have instead been confirmed as the judges for the sister show.

If you’re not a fan of I’m A Celebrity then here is a quick clip of Caroline who presented the equivalent satellite programme on ITV.

The pair will probably work quite well together. They are both smiley in the extreme and love this sort of thing – which is a relief as Konnie Huq seemed to be ill at ease with such a role. This could possibly be because its exactly the sort of thing her beau, Charlie Brooker, would lampoon.

Once again the leaks about who would actually be landing the role seem to be a PR stunt. The floating of Kimberly Walsh, Georgie Thompson and even Matt Edmonson (who, by the by,  we were very happy about as he would have been working his ass off to show he could handle such a role) came from fairly reliable sources. Perhaps they were just after the top trends spot on Twitter for promotion of the Xtra Factor, which they duly got.

David Beckham is often classed as the golden boy of football by those with short memories. The rest of us remember flirtations with the UK’s most famous pig fondler, Rebecca Loos, and of course the sending off in 1998. Earlier this month too he was involved in a bit of a bump on the road when he drove into a stalled car on the Los Angeles 405 freeway. Was it his fault? Well have a listen to these 911 calls regarding the incident:

Well if these are anything to go by it looks like David Beckham was definitely to blame as phrases like “speeding really bad” , “recklessly” and “tailgating” are thrown around with confidence.

In the end nobody was badly injured. Brooklyn had reportedly been in the car (making it originally seem likely to us that he wasn’t speeding) and both him and David came away unscathed. The driver in the stalled car was taken to hospital but there were no serious injuries.

A spokesman for David said ”(a)s unfortunate as accidents are, David was not cited by the police at the scene for any violations.” In that case these tapes would suggest he’s been a very lucky boy.

Wow! Pretty firm reports are coming out that Cheryl Cole has been dropped from the US X Factor to be replaced by Nicole Scherzinger – which must be ushering in a bit of squeeky bum time for Tulia Contostavlos and Kelly Roland as the darling of the X Factor is surely bound to have a safe seat on the show on at least one side of the Atlantic. Here’s our analysis of the politics that is going on in the UK and US.

So firstly, what’s gone on stateside. Well according to our American cousins in the gossip mag trade there are a few sources saying it was down to her accent. It had been a much talked about issue before the show, but when filming took place it became obvious that Americans would actually be shouting at the TV “aw shucks, they ain’t no dogs, why does she keep calling them pet?”.  Anyone who had to pay extra attention to understand Byker Grove will sympathise, especially as Cheryl decided she would not be reigning it in for the US audience.

There was another issue though, and this is where the claws could come out, as it was reported that there was a lack of Chemistry between Paula Abdul and Cheryl. The decision was taken that one had to go, and that the Brit was the one that would be up for the chop.

Firstly, wow! Let’s just take a minute. Cheryl is not a woman to take things lightly. She’s emotional (which other pop star would risk their career to defend herself against being called a chav). This is a good thing, but it could see sparks fly.

So Tulisa and Kelly Roland might be safe after all. Sources are saying she will return to the UK show but, and this is a big “but”, they also report she is so annoyed she might cut all her connection to the show. If she sees this as betrayal we all know she’s not scared of handling the media coverage of a woman scorned….she’s well versed in it after the whole Ashley affair.

Here’s the question on all our minds though, who would get replaced if it comes to it; Tulia Contostavlos or Kelly Rowland? We’ve got some thoughts on this, but we’d like you to vote before we lay these out to get everyone’s instant reactions.
