Who? The Horrors – a five-piece garage rock band who formed in mid-2005.
What? Their second album Primary Colours, which was released via XL Recordings on 4 May 2009.
Why? Despite their image putting a lot of people off, the Horrors actually make very accessible garage rock. Primary Colours was met to universal critical acclaim, making it one of the strongest contenders for this year’s prize.
Why Not? They may not be quite “mainstream” enough, despite being a much better bet than either Florence And The Machine or Kasabian.

Scenester rubbish. If that’s the kind of music you like there are loads of better bands out there that don’t get on the cover of NME every week.

I really hope they win. They are definitely the most interesting nominees, in my opinion. I think they’re exciting.
