Lily Allen like to have a go at things on Twitter – but she must have been aware she would be getting column inches when she had a go at X Factor’s Saturday night episode.

She Tweeted “Watching x factor an hour behind. What a load of tired old formulaic dog shit. Fuck this” – before making it in to a straw man for the whole of our society’s ills – “It’s s**t FACT! It’s everything that I detest about modern western culture.”

Lily Allen,who of course does not produce music about modern western culture in all its minute detail, feels she is more aligned with Eastern philosophy then?

She does have a point through when she tweets “I’ve better things to do with my time than feed the nation with the notion that doing cover versions will sort your life out.”

She was careful to leave Cheryl out of her tweets commenting “except Cheryl” at one point which added a nice tongue in cheek moment to the who proceeding. Yes Lily can be a loud mouth…but she does it well.

Still 11.1 million people watched it, so this formula has a few series left in it yet.
