LCD Soundsystem have landed a big win by getting Spike Jonze to co-direct their new video with frontman James Murphy. Spike’s videos for Fatboy Slim, Bjork, Weezer and Kanye West have all been amazing – and this is no different.

It sees the band being tormented by people in Panda suits – mixing cute, funny and horrific to make something disturbing (yet a bit uplifting). Judging by the reaction at the end of the video it looks like it was done in one take.

James told Pitchfork that the single is “about drunk people and fun things and the fact that all of the boys of the L.A. mansion we recorded at were called ‘the girls’ by our chef. We were the ladies of the mansion.”

After seeing this their Irish fans will be doubly disappointed they had to cancel their gigs at the Dublin Tripod due to the ash cloud. If you want to catch their England and Scotland gigs though there are still tickets available here
