At the end of last year there was a fair bit of doubt that The Followills would be able to put the family feuds down and put together a new album. Speaking to the, ahem, Daily Star:

We started seriously writing the songs when we got back home from tour…I got a call from Caleb going: ‘I’m sitting here writing the next album by myself’. And we’re like: ‘Oh no, you’re not’….We ended up going to his house so that when the record comes out he can’t go: ‘Dude, I’m getting 70% of this s**t’.

With royalties weighing so heavily on the band’s mind, when there was a substantial delay to the new album, it left us a bit nervous as to whether the follow up to “Only by the Night” would actually emerge.

The worry is over though – Nathan has confirmed via his twitter that yesterday they got themselves into the studio yesterday and termed the results “a success”. Phew.
