Just a day after the sad passing of Malcolm McLaren, music has lost another great – though very different – character. Scottish Tenor Kenneth McKellar has passed away at the age of 82 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
He will be remembered as a true Scot so much so that First Minister Alex Salmond has come out to say “as well as being an outstanding entertainer with a magnificent voice, he also had a deep commitment to helping the careers of young performers.”
Wolfstar_de summed it by tweeting: the fact that someone as homely/quaint as Kenneth McKellar (RIP) is the top trending topic on Twitter restores my faith in humanity
While he might never be belting out Robert Burns at Hogmanay again, here’s a reminder of his 1966 Eurovision entry and of why he was so good.

I didn’t realise that TMM was such a fan of this sort of music. As a fan of Kenneth’s i’d be interested to know why you felt he was so good.
