We’re hotly anticipating Kelly Rowland’s new album – and it looks like her third solo effort is going to establish her further into the dance artist. Her newly leaked song – On and On – produced by Brian Kennedy (famous for Rhianna’s Disturbia), is a definite mix of pop and dance building on her collaboration with David Guetta.
Another release from her upcoming album, Commander, raised eyebrows for genre hopping – but she was quick to defend herself.
I did not forget about my urban roots, nor will I ever…That is one of the reasons I am here period…I thank everyone for being so wonderful and so open to me trying something new. I won’t let you down this record, I promise you.
What is most interesting though is the wider context. With the success of Lady Gaga, all the american divas seem to be shifting towards a more electronic sound. Releases from Christina, Kelly and Kelis have all gone this way so far, and it looks set to become a trend.

Gaga is a trend setter and as Time said “influential”. I expect we will see a lot of her influence this year in the music business.

Gaga is not a trend setter! She stole her entire swagg from Grace Jones. If u don’t know who she is look her up on Youtube! You will see alot of the looks she has done Gaga has done & copied. She was a very popular 1980s pop star & high fashion model. Gaga didn’t invent anything. & as for Ms. Kelly Rowland she is crossing over to reach a bigger fan base. That is wear the money is… she said she was inspired from traveling around the world hearing electro music. I don’t see anything Kelly is doing Gaga is doing! & Christina have always done crazy original out the box looks & videos. So what r u ppl talking about!

Give me a break! Why do Lady Gaga fans act like as though she is the ONLY WOMAN EVER to make dance music? Hello, Madonna and Janet Jackson have been involved in dance music for decades!
