Who are you?
We’re Slaves To Gravity. Me [Tommy Gleeson] on vocals and guitars, Mark Verney on lead guitar, and Toshi Ogawa on bass.

How did you come together?
We formed from the ashes of a couple of different London bands in the summer of 2006. Myself, Toshi and Jason (drummer – taking leave from the band to look after his father) had spent the last four years in the Ga Ga’s and our guitar player had just quit. We started looking around with a view to putting together a totally new project with a new name a new songs and Mark, whose band Ariel X had just split, was the first guy we met. We all felt an instant connection and have never really looked back.

What was your first gig like?
We decided that if were going to suck, we had to do it away from the prying eyes of London, so we headed up to Scotland for 4 shows. The first was at Glasgow Barly, midweek with about 10 people in attendance. My amp blew up four songs in and I was wearing matching denim jacket and trousers – stonewash faded. Classy stuff.

What plans do you have for the next six months?
The last single from our debut record has just been released and is available on iTunes now. It’s called Doll Size and there’s a pretty cool little promo vid that goes with it up on Youtube and also the iTunes store. We’ve just finished tracking our new album and that’s going to be hitting early next year with a lot of touring shortly afterwards. We’ve been away for too long, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes and have a lot of surprises in store.

How would you like the band to be remembered?
I hope people would look back on us with affection and that our songs out last us. It would be nice to be regarded as having made a valid contribution to something we love so much. If they remember us at all it’d be nice.
