Headliners Guns n Roses have inspired a strict curfew on all headline acts at this years’ Reading and Leeds festivals. The renowned group performed a headline act in 2002 that far exceeded its allocated slot after strutting out far later than anticipated, prompting organiser Melvin Benn to insist that they are on time this year following pressure from local councillors.
“If Guns N’ Roses decide to take to stage as late as they did in Leeds some years ago then the performance just won’t happen,” said Benn. “I’ve had a very heavy warning from the local councils. There is a curfew – it’s a very strict curfew.”
However all reports suggest that the warning has been heeded and that the bands’ headline slot will go ahead and on time - coming as a relief to their large and devoted fanbase.
